Moderator: Thank you so much for joining us once again for the Celebrity Chat. Today we are glad to have Eric Vale as our guest. Eric is the voice of Dragonball Z's Trunks and Yuji from Blue Gender.

Eric: Hola. I am Eric Vale. I do VA work. Please proceed with your questions.

Q: What is your favorite saga of DBZ?
A: Android. That's where the purple haired wonder first appears.

Q: Do you talk to animals telepathically?
A: Only in the fifth realm.

Q: Hey Eric! Will you be writing for Fruits Basket along side John Burgmeier?
A: Not yet. It may happen in the future, but right now I'm hard at work on the Lupin movies.

Q: What DBZ character do you like best?
A: Vegeta. My dad rocks.

Q: What is your favorite episode of DBZ?
A: #224

Q: What is it like working with all the other awesome voice actors?
A: I wouldn't know. We are in the booth one at a time, so we really never work together.

Q: Will you and the other voice actors come to the UK and do an anime convention here?
A: I would love to. Fill out the feedback form on the website and tell them that you want us to come. Also, tell the conventions in the UK to try to get us to come out there.

Q: What color are your socks?
A: I'm wearing sandals.

Q: Do you like playing the role of Trunks?
A: Of course.

Q: Is FUNimation doing GT in English? If so, will you be doing Trunks' voice?
A: If it does come around the corner, I think I will keep doing the voice, as long as they want me to.

Q: Eric, first of all thank you for your time. Now I was wondering in the upcoming live action DBZ movie, are you hoping to get a part maybe as Trunks or does the look not fit the voice even with Hollywood magic?
A: No, I could actually do a passable Trunks. Sure, I'd love to do the role, but those people probably don't even know my name.

Q: Who's your favorite VA to work with?
A: Like I said, I don't really work with other VA's. With the exception of Chris Sabat, being the voice director. So I would have to say him.

Q: Is Chris Sabat grumpy?
A: Duh. Yes. And loud.

Q: What type of music do you like?
A: Good music. Classical, Ween, the Doors, and Garbage.

Q: What's your favorite anime?
A: Blue Gender, baby, YEAH!!

Q: What's your favorite attack?
A: Chew attack.

Q: I think Trunks has a crush on Android 18. Will he ever ask her to date him. Please say YES!!!!
A: No.

Q: Eric, how old are u?
A: 104 come this August…….28

Q: Are you more like Trunks or Yuji?
A: Neither. I have no super powers and I have never been frozen.

Q: What is the one thing you wanted to do ever since you were a kid?
A: Find out where that room is at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Q: Do you collect anything from DBZ?
A: Not really.

Q: Who's your favorite villain?
A: Cell

Q: Who do you think is stronger Gogeta or Vegetto?
A: GoegetaVeetrunksten

Q: Does Chris Sabat make you cry when he yells or says something rude to you?
A: No. I never cry.

Q: What is the most recent episode you've worked on?
A: Of BG, the last. Of DBZ, I have no idea.

Q: Would you rather do another character like Vegeta?
A: Nah. I'd just rather have the work than not.

Q: Ok Eric, have you ever read fan fiction about Trunks and thought "Trunks would never do that"?
A: Nope. I don't spend a lot of time on that internet thing.

Q: I plan to be a voice actor, what do I need to do to become one?
A: Train as an actor first. And be serious about your work.

Q: What is favorite part about being the voice of Trunks?
A: The fans, man. The fans.

Q: When you are voice acting, do you ever feel that you really are Trunks?
A: No. But I do when I go out on the weekends.

Q: Do you practice with a sword in real life?
A: No. I fight with wordds….woordss….words, that's it.

Q: In your opinion which is better: Dragon Ball, Dragonball Z, or Dragonball GT?
A: DBZ

Q: Eric How long have you been with FUNimation doing the voice of Trunks?
A: I've been here for about two and a half years. But I don't know when I stopped doing the voice of Trunks.

Q: Hi Eric I totally love and respect you!!!!! But some of my friends and I were wondering who plays the voice of the Supreme Kai? (Shin)
A: Kent Williams does Supreme Kai. And I love and respect you, too.

Q: Hey Eric, what is your maximum power level?
A: I can't lift a car, if that's what you're asking.

Q: What inspired you to become a voice actor
A: I've always loved acting, since I was but a wee lad.

Q: Does Trunks marry Gohan's daughter Pan at the end of DBGT?
A: I don't know.

Q: What role does Yuji from Blue Gender play in that anime series?
A: The role of the guy who is frozen for fourteen years, then he's awakened into a world of killer giant bugs, then he falls for a military woman, then he goes insane, then he saves the world.

Q: What's your favorite TV show?
A: 24

Q: Would you ever think about changing the personality of Trunks?
A: Nope. He is his own man.

Q: If two trains pass Chicago at the same time, do you snore?
A: I don't snore. Who told you that?

Q: Pepsi or Coke?
A: Dr. Pepper.

Q: Can you speak Japanese?
A: No.

Q: When you're outdoors, do you like to act like you're Trunks or Yuji?
A: No. Only in the privacy of mine or Chris Sabat's home.

Q: Does Trunks get a girl friend in GT?
A: I don't know.

Q: Who do you think would win in a fight? Tien or Krillin?
A: Tien

Q: Does FUNimation hold auditions for voice actors?
A: Yes.

Q: If you could wish for any thing with the Dragon Balls what would it be?
A: Two words.... Hover boards.

Q: When is Blue Gender on?
A: It's on in the UK only.

Q: Do you like the movie Top Gun?
A: Yes, but not for the reason you're thinking.

Q: Are you going to do Trunks' voice on Movie 7?
A: I hope so.

Q: If you had any powers what would they be?
A: That's insinuating that I don't have any powers.

Q: Does it hurt when you scream really loud for a really long time?
A: Yes.

Q: Would you like to do more voices than you do now?
A: Yes.

Q: What's your favorite song?
A: Mmm, Bop.

Q: What's you favorite line you have ever said?
A: Never underestimate the power of the androids!! No, I'm serious. Stop it. You're underestimating, I can tell.

Q: Who do you think is the better character, Chibi Trunks or Future Trunks?
A: Future.

Q: Do people recognize your voice when you're walking around town?
A: Not if I dress it up in a disguise.

Q: Did you go to college? If so, which one?
A: No

Q: Hey Eric will you adopt me?
A: Are you a cat?

Q: Have you ever considered plastic surgery to look more like Chris Sabat?
A: Unfortunately, the job was botched and now I look like John Burgmeier.

Q: Are you real or a robot?
A: Robot, but don't tell.

Q: I heard you are a writer for DBZ. Are you writing anything right now for DBZ or any of your own stuff?
A: Yes, I am working on the next Lupin movie, Dragon of Doom.

Q: Do you have a Xbox, PS2, Gamecube, or Gameboy Advance? If you do what games do you have?
A: GameCube, and Chris Sabat has all of my games at his house. But if I had them, I'd be playing nothing but Super Monkey Ball!!

Q: Do you ever think that you are a Saiyan?
A: No.

Q: Who do you like, Bulma or Android 18?
A: Android 18

Q: Do you like any other cartoon series?
A: Simpsons, Home Movies

Q: Why do you say that DBZ is better?
A: Duh. Hercule.

Q: Is Trunks cool?
A: I think so, but he has self-esteem issues.

Q: Whose idea was it for you to be the voice of the World Tournament Announcer? It sounds very cool!
A: It's my idea to be the voice of everything. But they only wanted the announcer.

Q: Do you do anything else apart from voice acting or is it all you do?
A: Yes, I write, and I've been told that I'm in some commercials and stuff like that. Infomercials.

Q: Eric, how did you become the voice actor for Trunks?
A: I auditioned, and I was cast.

Q: Does Krillin annoy you as much as he annoys me and my friends?
A: No. I think you should just stop hanging out with Krillin if he annoys you so much. You don't have to bad mouth him on this forum. I mean, he DOES have feelings.

Q: Mr. Vale have you ever been sky-diving?
A: Sky-diving... no. Heights scare me.

Q: Do you like fruit and cake?
A: Yes, but not fruitcake.

Q: What is your favorite pastime activity?
A: I enjoy cross-stitching and going to the movies.

Q: Do you suck up to Chris Sabat sometimes?
A: No. We have a very professional working relationship.

Q: Do you like cheese? And if so, what kinds?
A: Yes, very much. Nothing blue, but I enjoy the many cheese of Holland and the Ukraine.

Q: Have you auditioned for any roles in "Yu Yu Hakusho"?
A: I play Rando, Shorin, and Sakyo.

Q: Who is your favorite DBZ female and why?
A: Chi-Chi, cause she's a take-charge kind of woman.

Q: Who does the voice of Buu?
A: Josh Martin

Q: Do you have a crush on any of the other voice actors?
A: No. Yes. No. Yes, but I'm not saying who.

Q: Why did you take the part to voice act Trunks?
A: They offered it.

Q: Are you retarded?
A: I find that question offensive.

Q: If you could have another job, what would it be?
A: CIA agent

Q: How old is trunks at the end of GT?
A: I don't know. Older than at the beginning.

Q: Do you watch Dragonball Z when it comes on?
A: Yep.

Q: Who do you think Goku...or Trunks, will be in the "live action" Dragonball Z movie?
A: Both

Q: Do you have/want hair like Trunks'
A: No and No

Q: How long does it take to voice an episode?
A: Sometimes a day, sometimes a week, depends on the script.

Q: Do you know martial arts?
A: No.

Q: Why would people want to ask a voice actor questions? What are they going to ask? Stuff like "hey is your voice good?"
A: Why did you ask a VA a question? What did you ask? My voice is good.

Q: Do you ever wish you could win the cheese lottery?
A: Oh, heaven, yes.

Q: Do you think FUNimation edits out more than they need to?
A: It doesn't matter to me. I think what they do is fine.

Q: Why did you change your name from Eric Johnson to Eric Vale?
A: Because a person with the name Eric Johnson joined the union, which means that if I joined the union, I would have had to change my name. So I figured I'd just do it now.

Q: What would your life long dream be if this is not it?
A: To make movies for a living.

Q: Do you ever try to grow a tail? Then charge up for hours before you figure out you have no real powers?
A: Yes. It is quite disheartening.

Q: How often do you fake sick to get off your work??
A: Never.

Q: Eric, who do u think is the smartest person in the world?
A: Steven Hawking.

Q: Do you watch many animes or do you just watch FUNimation ones?
A: I watch a spectrum of anime.

Q: Have you ever tried to fly?
A: Yes. I broke my foot.

Q: Do you think Chris Sabat is mean?
A: Sometimes, but he does have a job to do.

Q: If you could be any type of animal, what type would it be and why?
A: A yeti. They are so cool.

Q: Do you have a life?
A: Nope. You're right. I have no life. That is why I've been asked 665 questions by people like you in the last fifty minutes.

Q: Trunks says some stuff in the show that makes him look like a fruit. What would you say to this?
A: He is a pear.

Q: Why are you crazy?
A: Because it tickles.

Q: Did Chris Sabat ever make anyone cry?
A: Nope. He is gentle like a Hindu cow.

Q: Do you play the voice of younger Trunks too?
A: Nope, that's Laura Bailey.

Q: Are you demented in any way?
A: No. I have been cleared by the institution.

Q: Do you have a sword?
A: No.

Q: Do you know who does the voice of Babidi and Dubura? If so, who?
A: No.

Q: Are you a black dude?
A: Nope.

Q: Ok Eric, some of these questions are stupid. Don't you believe so? And, this might sound stupid as well but, why wont you tell which person you have a crush on?
A: Because it would no longer define the word 'crush' would it?

Q: Do you ever mistake yourself for Trunks himself when talking?
A: No.

Q: What do you do for fun when not recording?
A: Eat out, spend time with my girlfriend and her son. See movies. Cook. Write Haiku. Juggle flaming knives.

Q: What is a normal day like for you?
A: Wake up, write. Lunch. Write. Dinner. Write. Watch movie. Drink some raw eggs. Hit the sack.

Q: What's the worst part about being a voice actor?
A: People don't understand that I don't frequent the web.

Q: What's your favorite fast food restaurant?
A: Taco Bell, baby.

Q: Do you like to read? If so, what books?
A: Yes. I read a lot. Arthur C. Clarke, Clive Barker.

Q: What do you plan to do after voice acting?
A: I hope to write for and work on feature films. That's the dream.
